Former MP Dean Jonas’ plea for the five criminal charges against him will be delayed for another month.
He failed to appear in court, causing his hearing to be rescheduled.
Jonas’ attorney, George Lake, explained the mix-up and requested the court not to issue a bench warrant.
Chief Magistrate Joanne Walsh granted a one-month adjournment until July 18.
Jonas, the former Minister of Social Transformation and Gender Affairs, faces charges of resisting arrest, using threatening language, disorderly conduct, assault, and battery following an incident at his home in Scott’s Hill on February 23.
The delay in entering a plea is also attributed to Jonas’ lawyers, Wendel Robinson and George Lake, who have made submissions to have the case dismissed.
In a previous instance, the court’s delay was due to misplaced keys.
