Antiguan authorities reveal that 45-year-old Mannie James was unarmed when he was fatally shot by police during a chase.
The incident took place on July 31 during a joint military-police operation.
James, a father-of-two, was found with gunshot wounds in his back and abdomen but had no weapon on him or in the vehicle he was driving.
The two other passengers in the car escaped, and their identities remain unknown.
The police officers involved have been taken off frontline duties and are undergoing counseling.
Investigations continue to shed light on the tragic event and the actions of the law enforcement officers.(Observer)
