Whenner Road Resident Apprehended for Suspected Defrauding of Senator Rawdon Turner, Exceeding $3,000

SOURCE: REAL NEWS – The Police have taken a woman into custody following reports of a fraud incident involving businessman Rawdon Turner, a government senator.

Turner lodged a complaint at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) alleging that an unknown person obtained $3,300 from him under false pretenses.

The offense was said to have taken place between June 9 and 13 at Cassada Gardens.

Based on information provided by Turner, the Police arrested a 42-year-old woman from Whenner Road on suspicion of obtaining money through false pretense.

She is currently assisting officers with their investigation.

On Tuesday morning, June 13, the CID and the Crime Management Team conducted an operation at a business place located on Utility Drive in Cassada Gardens.

During the operation, the suspect was intercepted, and a cheque worth $2,000 from the business was found in her possession.

The suspect was subsequently arrested on suspicion of false pretense and taken to the St. John’s Police Station.

Along with the suspect, a senior officer received the cheque and a cell phone as evidence in the ongoing investigation.

Further details regarding the case are yet to be released, as the investigation remains active.
