Former WA bikie boss stabbed in Perth’s south

A former Coffin Cheaters president has been stabbed during an altercation at a home in Perth’s south on Saturday night.

Peter Godfree, aged in his 60s, underwent emergency surgery on Sunday at Royal Perth Hospital after receiving multiple stab wound injuries while at a residence at the Naval Base Shacks in Henderson.

A WA Police spokesman said paramedics called authorities to the Cockburn Road house around 9.25pm.

“He was taken by St John WA to Royal Perth Hospital with what are believed to be life-threatening injuries,” he said.

“A man aged in his 50s was later arrested nearby, and he remains in custody at this time.

“Due to the nature of the victim’s injuries, homicide squad detectives are investigating.”

The arrested man, from Yanchep, now faces one charge of aggravated home burglary and commit and one of aggravated grievous bodily harm.

He is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on Monday.

Godfree, on Monday, was in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

Despite him being a patched member of the Coffin Cheaters and a member of the United Motorcycle Council of WA, police are not at this stage treating the attack as a bikie-related incident.
