A Place In The Sun buyer sends 'alarm bells ringing' after early confession

A Place In The Sun viewers were concerned by a confession a potential buyer made early on in an episode of the property programme earlier this week.

House hunter Kelly was shown around five properties in Sunny Beach in Bulgaria by host Scarlett Douglas with a budget of just £25,000.

She told the agent she was looking for a holiday home she could come to with her mum and daughter and as her mum wasn't able to join her on the hunt, she was seeking advice from her pal Angie. She was aiming to find her dream one-bedroom apartment in the sun to give her the perfect break from life at home in Essex.

However, viewers quickly took to Twitter to voice their concerns at Kelly's confession that she'd never actually been to the area before.

Straight away, one user wrote: "£25k budget in a place they’ve never visited and an absentee remote buyer. This is going to be epic.

Another seemingly agreed and said: "This looks like it could go very wrong, very quickly! 25k, never been before and one of the buyers isn't there I'm here for it."

And a third added: "Never been there before... alarm bells ringing."

Perhaps surprisingly, the hunt was a success, with Kelly telling Scarlett the location had "exceeded expectations". She also found a property she was keen on - a one-bed apartment in the Vineyards Resort set on the third floor of the complex and offering panoramic views.

While the apartment was up for sale for £21,818, Kelly was over the moon to see her bid of £20,500 accepted by the seller, giving her the perfect end to her search in the sun.

The property hunters took in the sights of Bulgaria

It's not the first time viewers have been stunned by a potential buyer's revelation this month. Earlier in September fans were taken aback when a couple were searching for a pad in Lanzarote. With a budget of £350,000, retirees Pauline and Peter requested a scenic view of the island but admitted space was their main priority when it came to possible properties, as it may be a deal breaker if there wasn't enough room.

And it was their confession that they shared 15 grandkids between them which got viewers talking. One user took to Twitter to joke: "With 15 grandkids no wonder they spend seven months away! So would I!"

Another jibed: "15 grandkids they’d be better off buying a crèche."
