Aldi is now selling a 'creamy' Yorkshire pudding beer just in time for Christmas

As December approaches, many of us will be stocking up on our favourite festive snacks to snuggle up in front of the telly with - from Quality Street chocolates to tubs of Twiglets. The Christmas period also sees brands dip their toe into unusual seasonal flavour combinations, with Five Guys' bizarre pigs in blankets milkshake recently dividing fans of the Christmas dinner trimming.

Now, budget supermarket Aldi has entered the chat, as it's launched a beer made with real Yorkshire puddings - yes, you read that correctly. Each beer is crafted with half a Yorkshire pud, and fans of the stodgy side dish will no doubt be chomping at the bit to try the tipple.

The unusual beer has landed on the supermarket shelves after the brewers won a competition on Channel 4's TV show 'Aldi's Next Big Things'.

Father and son Duo Harry and Howard Kinder wowed judges with their intriguing creation, which was described as deliciously creamy.

Malton Brewery is the award-winning company behind the quirky beer, which is said to be inspired by the first-ever Yorkshire pudding recipe - created by Hannah Glass in 1747.

Howard created the beer back in 2019, and now Aldi has snapped it up, so you can pick a few bottles up at your local store.

One of Malton Brewery's big brews uses more than 4,000 Yorkshire puds, and each pint contains 3.6% alcohol.

The judges on 'Aldi's Next Big Thing' were so impressed by the offerings from the small-scale producers during the show's finale that they couldn't choose one winner.

Instead, Aldi will also see a new range of sweet treats hit the shelves as well as Malton Brewery's unusual beer, as Harry Specters Chocolate Bars also wowed the panel.

Howard Kinder, of Malton Brewery, said: "We were absolutely elated – and really happy that we got to share the victory with Harry Specters.

"For me, I’m not just happy that we've won, but that I get to continue working with my son".

Available in Aldi stores now, each 500ml bottle of the good stuff costs £1.49. The brewery also sells four bottles of 500ml for £12 and eight bottles for £19.95

Malon Brewery has crafted beers that have sold out within hours previously, and its newest venture is set to be just as popular, as its website states that orders may take up to seven days to process currently - owing to high demand.
