Alexandra Burke shows off incredible Christmas jumper in festive makeover

XMAS FACTOR

X FACTOR legend Alexandra Burke poked fun at herself as she posed in a Christmas jumper today.

The singer, 34, went viral in 2012 when she claimed she'd brought the phrase "elephant in the room" to the UK.

There was a heavy nod to the moment as she launched a 'Jazz Up Your Jumper' vintage sweatshirt pop-up shop in London.

She was seen in a top with the words "Elf in the Room" on the front.

The store is running as part of charity Save The Children’s annual Christmas Jumper Day, which is on Thursday.

Professional upcyclers are on hand there to pep up people's jumpers - whether brought along or picked out of the second-hand collection in the shop - using heat transfer tech.

Alexandra said: "I’ve had so much fun jazzing up my jumper today. My once plain and never worn sweater is now fun and colourful.

"I couldn’t decide whether to add baubles, bells or tinsel – so I went for all three.

"The Jazz Your Jumper pop-up shop at Westfield London is just what Christmas is all about. Every £1 donated either online or in store will be matched by the government which is incredible.”

She added: “Since becoming a mum I’m now more aware than ever of the challenges that children and babies can face, both here in the UK and around the world.

"I’m extremely proud to be partnering with Westfield London and Save the Children whose work strives to help children reach their full potential.”

Alexandra won the fifth series of The X Factor in 2008, and went on to release winner's single Hallelujah, which became the European record holder for most singles sold over 24 hours.

Jazz Your Jumper, powered by Save the Children and Thrift+, is on the ground floor of Westfield London from 10am and 9pm, Tuesday 6 December until Thursday 8 December.
