Amazing iPhone upgrade gives you perfect Christmas hack you need to try

APPLE has launched an official karaoke feature called Music Sing.

It works using Apple Music – the Spotify rival for iPhone, iPad and more.

Long-time Apple Music users will know that the service already offers a rolling lyrics view for songs – so you can sing along.

But Apple Music Sing massively improves this feature to let you do some proper singalongs.

There are two main parts to the app feature: adjustable vocals and real-time lyrics.

Songs now feature a Sing slider that you can use to quieten or even near-silence vocals in a song.

This uses powerful on-device processing to analyse the song waveform and isolate the vocals.

You can control this simply by tapping the microphone on a Sing-approved song.

The other element of the feature is real-time lyrics.

Instead of showing lyrics line by line, Sing tracks will highlight lyrics by syllables.

This should help you sing along even if you're not familiar with the song.

If a song has background vocals, these will be shown in a smaller font between the main lines.

And for a duet track, the song will split the lyrics on the left and right of the screen, depending who is singing.

Apple says that the new feature is available later this month.

"Apple Music’s lyrics experience is consistently one of the most popular features on our service," said Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president of Apple Music and Beats.

"We already know our users all over the world love to follow along to their favourite songs, so we wanted to evolve this offering even further to enable even more engagement around music through singing.

"It’s really a lot of fun, our customers are going to love it."

Editors at Apple Music will be curating dozens of Sing themed playlists by theme, decade and genre.

And you'll also be able to search directly for Sing songs too. Just look out for the microphone icon.

It's only available for Apple Music subscribers (£9.99/$9.99), so you'll need a membership to enjoy it.

Apple Music Sing will work on compatible iPhone and iPad models (with an A13 chip or later – so at least an iPhone 11), as well as the new Apple TV 4K.

It won't work if you're only paying for the cheaper Apple Music Voice Plan.
