THIS is the moment two cars raced to escape a blazing wildfire and came close to crashing as the driver claims he nearly died.
The dramatic dashcam footage captured the moment the motors sped through the raging fire in Nova Scotia, Canada.
The video was shared by a filmmaker, known as @ibrafilms_ on Instagram, who was driving through the inferno.
Flames and smoke can be seen on both sides of the highway, with dark plumes flooding the drivers windscreen.
As he sped through Hammonds Plain, the trees were alight and glowing orange as the driver said: "Woah, woah, woah, I need to go, I can't see anything".
Driving further towards the cloud of thick grey smoke, the wildfire can be seen spreading through the forest as red sparks flicked onto the windows.
The apocalyptic footage also captured the inferno blasting outwards towards the car while the driver swerved chaotically in an effort to not be hit.
The grey cloud dispersed and revealed an ominous red glow and the trees can be seen bare and burnt to a crisp.
"Woah," the driver shouted, as he continued heading deeper into the blazing wildfire.
Suddenly, a set of brake lights appeared in front of his car and the driver slammed on his brakes to avoid a potentially deadly collision.
The driver ground to a halt while the red Jeep sped off into the smoke.
"Go, go, go, go," the driver can be heard saying before slowing down to create a safe distance between his car and the one ahead.
The thick smoke continued to cover the windscreen and golden embers flitted across the clouded window.
"Don't be afraid, don't worry," the driver said as he moved through the blaze.
The horror footage then cuts to a clip of huge orange flames engulfing the trees on both sides of the road while the car in front kept a steady pace on the dangerous highway.
Both vehicles finally exit the fire-stripped forest but the cloud of black smoke can still be seen lingering around the cars.
Following the terrifying experience, the owner of the dashcam footage shared a video recalling the nightmare.
He said: "Guys, we almost died, the fire is spreading, it's very serious, I'm not kidding, we couldn't see anything".
The eastern Canadian city of Halifax has declared a local state of emergency after the wildfire caused evacuations and power outages.
There have also been fires in Alberta and British Colombia this month, as almost 100 wildfires raged through the area.
The first local state of emergency was declared on May 4, where over 3,000 square miles were left destroyed by the fires, local officials said.
These severe wildfires have forced tens of thousands of people from their homes.
