Arsenal transfer round-up: Gunners enter Rabiot race after finding Endrick alternative

Arsenal returned to action with a clash against Lyon in the Dubai Super Cup on Thursday as they stepped up their preparations for the second half of the Premier League campaign.

But it is also off the pitch where the Gunners have been doing plenty of work, with the upcoming January transfer window presenting the opportunity to strengthen the side. According to reports, Arsenal have entered the race to sign Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot, while an alternative to Real Madrid-bound Endrick may have been found.

Mirror Football takes a look at all the latest transfer stories coming out of the Emirates Stadium…

Arsenal enter Rabiot race

Arsenal have joined the list of clubs looking to sign Juventus and France midfielder Adrien Rabiot next year.

The Frenchman seemed close to joining Manchester United in the summer before a move fell through, but his performances at the World Cup with Les Bleus have put a number of other clubs on alert - including the Gunners.

And with Rabiot’s deal set to expire next summer, along with Arteta’s ambition to strengthen his squad further, Calciomercato have reported that the Gunners will battle Newcastle to snap the 27-year-old Frenchman up when he is made available for transfer in January.

Gunners identify Endrick alternative

Following recent reports of Palmeiras wonderkid Endrick looking likely to join Real Madrid, Arsenal will be forced into finding an alternative if they wish to add to their impressive collection of youngsters at Hale End.

However, they may have already struck gold in the form of Endrick’s 15-year-old teammate Estevao Willian, who has also been in remarkable form for Palmeiras’ youth side this season.

The Brazilian is raved about almost as highly as Endrick and although he is just 15-years-old, could become even better. Goal Brasil have now revealed that the Gunners are one of the clubs who have registered an interest and are eyeing up a swoop for the youngster.

Milan join Martinelli hunt

AC Milan have identified Gabriel Martinelli as the perfect replacement for Rafael Leao should he leave the Italian giants in the next two transfer windows.

Leao registered 11 goals and 10 assists last season to help Milan win the Serie A title and has since followed that up with a further seven goals and nine assists across all competitions in the current campaign. As well as this, he has scored twice for Portugal at the ongoing World Cup.

And with the 23-year-old fully expected to depart the Italians next year, Calciomercatoweb have reported that Milan are considering Martinelli as a replacement for Leao, with the Brazilian yet to agree on new terms at the Emirates Stadium.
