Coronation Street spoilers hint at return for Strictly's Will Mellor as evil Harvey

Coronation Street star Will Mellor could be returning to the ITV soap amid his Strictly Come Dancing stint.

Spoilers for next week have hinted at a return for evil Harvey Gaskell. The killer caused heartbreak and chaos on the Cobbles last year as he returned to kill Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) but in a case of mistaken identity, he murdered Natasha Blakeman (Rachel Leskovac) and left her son Sam (Jude Riordan) completely broken.

Now Corrie spoilers for next week have seemingly hinted Will could be back as evil Harvey in upcoming scenes as Nick and Leanne receives a very unwelcome letter from prison. Harvey is currently serving a prison sentence for his heinous crimes.

On the ITV soap next week, Nick is stunned as he reveals to Leanne that they have both received letters from prison. The pair are shocked to see they've received prison visiting orders from Harvey.

Agreeing not to respond, Nick rips them up and they both try to move on. However, Leanne is still left reeling from the visiting order and admits to Nick that she won't be able to rest until she knows what Harvey wants.

But what will they decide - to visit Harvey or to leave him to die in prison?

Will previously described his character as a "proper bad lad".

"The character is a proper bad lad, a Salford lad. He's a bit of a drug baron and he gets young lads who haven't got criminal records involved selling drugs for him. So he's a horrible person - and good to play," he said at the time.

"I'm just glad that people have seen me play other things, because if this was the first thing they'd seen me do they would believe it. They would hate me. People would hurl abuse in the street."

Elsewhere, Will is taking part in Strictly Come Dancing in memory of his late father, who died in 2020.

"I'm honestly so chuffed to be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing this year! Not going to lie, it's totally out of my comfort zone and I know it will be a huge challenge but that's what life is all about," he said about the stint, "I lost my dad in 2020 and from then I've just thought I've got to grab life - I've got to do things and create new memories. My mindset changed and that's the reason why. This is also my mum's favourite show and she's had a really tough few years so I'm doing this is for her as well. Bring it on!"
