Corrie's killer Stephen actor reveals fallout to Leo's murder ahead of 'next victim'

Coronation Street's Stephen Reid actor Todd Boyce has shared his thoughts on his character's murder twist, and what lies ahead.

Stephen accidentally killed Leo Thompkins during a violent showdown on Monday night, pushing him from a height after whacking his head against a metal bar.

Leo plunged from the factory gantry and landed in a huge bin, but he was killed during the assault.

Actor Todd told The Mirror and other press that Stephen would struggle with his guilt in the fallout, but would quickly cover his tracks.

He discussed the moment he disposes of Leo's things, making it seem to his partner Jenny Connor that he's left for Canada without her.

Todd spilled: "He goes back to the scene of the crime. I mean, I think he's guilt ridden and he's at the back of Underworld and he sees Leo's phone, which they were scuffling over and it had been forgotten about on the ground.

"He manages to make it seem like Leo is in Canada. He sneaks into the pub because he overhears from Gemma that his suitcase and the passport are in the back room. And so I filmed that the other day.

"It's very creepy sneaking into an empty pub and doing it, so everyone thinks well, the passport and his suitcases are gone. He's sending text messages [too]"

On the murder, he went on: "He didn't, kind of, murder him. I guess it's manslaughter but he doesn't phone the authorities and say there's a dead body in the bin because he has got too much to hide."

Leo's death came as he finally worked out Stephen's sick plan for his mother Audrey, and that his money woes were a lot worse than he thought.

Coronation Street star Todd Boyce has teased what lies ahead

He found out Stephen was trying to value his mother's property and get her to sell, so that he could steal the equity and pay back his ex-wife Gabrielle, whose company he stole money from before he fled.

As she confronted him and threatened to go to the police in the latest episode, Stephen revealed his plan to sell Audrey's home and get the money for Gabrielle.

Leo, who had just learned of Stephen's lies to the estate agent about Audrey's health and the incident with the house, heard every word.

As Leo threatened to call Audrey and then the police, to expose Stephen, Stephen saw red and attacked him, before shoving him off the platform.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
