Most people could walk around their house blindfolded without bumping into anything because they know their home like the back of their hand. But one couple has been questioning everything after discovering a secret room connected to their master bedroom.
It wasn't until one of their family members pointed out how the outside of their house doesn't correlate size-wise to the inside that they began a full investigation into their home. Taking to Reddit, one of the homeowners said: "While we were sitting on the back porch my mother noticed and commented on how there is a large amount of missing space of what the layout on the second floor should be.

The American homeowner guided two guests upstairs to see where the missing space should be - and they proceeded to create a hole in the wall to see what was on the other side.
"They then kick a hole in the wall inside the bathroom closet to reveal this room. The room is about 10x5' and none of us have any idea why it was boarded up," they added.
Looking for answers, the couple asked Reddit users whether they have any ideas on why somebody would have closed off the room.

Eddumz/Reddit)One user said: "I've heard of houses being remodelled or added on to without the proper permits, so when it comes time to sell, the room or space that was added is sometimes walled off to avoid any questions."
Another user added: "I'm glad the room wasn't bigger and filled with baby stuff to make it look like a baby's room.
"That would mean the previous owner's baby died and they were so sad that they had to seal the room up."
In response, the homeowner confirmed the room connects to the master bedroom and was spacious enough for a baby's crib.

Meanwhile others questioned why the secret room wasn't picked up on the house's floor plan.
One user said: "How did this not get picked up on by your home inspector during the purchase of the home?
"That is sort of the whole reason you paid them a couple hundred dollars. Seriously, I'd go get your money back."
Another user joked: "Just be careful it doesn't expand into a massive underground labyrinth."
One more added: "Free panic room... or for others to panic inside when you lock them in there."
