Dad's 'life is over' after fiancée and daughter hit and killed by car walking to school

A father whose fiancée and daughter were both killed when they were hit by a car as they walked to school says his life is “over”.

Justyna Hulboj, 27, and Lena Czepczor, 4, died in the tragedy on January 16 when a white Audi hit them both.

The little girl’s body was reportedly thrown over a wall, ending up on the forecourt of the Vertu Leeds Jaguar Land Rover dealership.

Her body was believed to have been found by sales staff when they came out of the office to see what was going on.

At the time police said the Audi had been travelling in convoy with a grey BMW 135i before the tragedy unfolded at 8.30am.

Dominik Czepczor, who was due to marry Justyna next month, is set to scatter their remains in Poland.

He told ITV News: “The house is empty... my life is over."

Of his daughter, he added: “Every morning she woke up when I go to work. She says she loves me. Have a good day."

Piles of floral tributes were left at the scene of the tragedy in January.

One included a poignant note saying: “Yesterday heaven gained two angels. Two beautiful souls taken so tragically. May you both fly free in eternal love. You will both be missed. RIP Sleep tight x.”

Another message read: “Dearest family. I am very sorry for your loss. Love and prayers are with you.”

Candles and teddy bears were also left by the road. One soft toy had a note attached which read: “Thinking of all the family at this sad time. Such a tragic accident. Fly high.”

Detective inspector Paul Conroy said: "This is an absolutely tragic incident, and we are working to support the family of the woman and child involved.

"We have already spoken to a number of witnesses but are keen to speak to anyone else who has witnessed the collision itself or the events leading up to it.

"We would also ask anyone who was in the area around the time of this collision to check their dashcam footage."

Three people have now been arrested in connection with the collision, West Yorkshire Police said.

Two men, aged 26 and 34, were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after the incident. A 65-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

All three are on bail pending further enquiries.
