Desperate search for missing dog walker Nicola Bulley, 45, who vanished on river path as pet is found without her

A DESPERATE manhunt is underway tonight after a dogwalker vanished without a trace on a river path.

Nicola Bulley, 45, was last seen on a footpath in St Michael's on Wyre, Lancashire, at around 9.15am on Friday.

Police dive teams, drones, search dogs, helicopters and mountain rescue volunteers have all been deployed as part of the search.

Despite an extensive hunt all weekend, only her dog, described as a brown-coloured Spaniel, has been found.

The animal was discovered close to where it is believed Nicola was last seen off Garstang Road.

Cops hope the dog may jog the memory of anyone in the area at the time.

Described as white, 5ft 3ins tall with light brown shoulder-length hair, she was last seen wearing a long black gilet jacket with a hood.

She was in black jeans and olive green ankle wellies and her hair in a ponytail.

Police say Nicola, from nearby village Inskip, has an Essex accent and has links to the Thornton-Cleveleys area near Blackpool.

Cops say they are "keeping an open mind about where Ms Bulley may be" but stressed they are "extremely concerned about her".

Detectives are "following a number of lines of enquiry" and were supported by dozens of volunteers for searches over the weekend.

Nicola’s family are being supported and remain in close contact with the police.

Chief Inspector Chris Barton, of Lancashire Police, added: "Nicola has now been missing for two days and we are extremely concerned about her.

"If anybody saw her on Friday morning and has not yet been spoken to by police, or if anybody has any other information about where she might be, please get in touch with us straight away."

Anybody who has seen Nicola, or has information about where she might be, is asked to call 101, quoting log 473 of January 27.

The force said to call 999 to report immediate sightings.
