Donald Trump praises King Charles III: ‘He’s got a great way about him’

Former President Donald Trump praised King Charles III as having ‘a great way about him’ and expects he will ‘do very well’ leading the UK.

The US’s 45th president on Tuesday opined that Charles has a ‘strong view on things’ as well as ‘an agenda’.

However, Trump said he believes Charles will not be outspoken on political issues.

‘I think he’ll probably keep it where it’s politically a little bit, because he feels very strong about things and not everybody agrees with that, I think he’ll probably not discuss certain elements of what he believes 100%,’ Trump said in an interview with GB News.

Trump explained that he knows Charles ‘very well, quite well’ because he ‘spent a lot of time’ with him when he was president.

‘So I’m a little prejudiced when I say it, but, you know, he had a strong view on things,’ Trump said of Queen Elizabeth II’s successor.

‘Probably difficult when you’re the king you want to have 100% of the people love you like the Queen did. The Queen had – everybody loved her, right? She didn’t have that kind of an agenda.’

Trump concluded, ‘I think Charles is going to do very well. I think he’s got a great way about him.’

The former president also spoke highly of Queen Consort Camilla, calling her ‘absolutely lovely’.

‘We had a good time together,’ Trump said of his previous interactions with Charles and Camilla.

Trump also complimented new Prime Minister Liz Truss as ‘very nice, very good’. Truss’ agenda includes cutting taxes.

By contrast, Trump attacked former Prime Minister Boris Johnson, calling him ‘woke’.

‘Boris was a friend of mine, perhaps he still is but I haven’t spoken to him in a while,’ Trump said.

‘The problem Boris has is he went liberal all of a sudden, and I think that is crazy.’

Trump also criticized Meghan Markle, as he has in the past.

‘I’m not a fan, I was never much of a fan of her,’ Trump said. ‘I don’t get it, but I hope he’s (Harry) happy, he didn’t seem too happy and he doesn’t seem too happy.’

Trump said Markle ‘was disrespectful to the Queen, which is a no no, you can’t do that’.
