EastEnders' Jay Brown could discover a twist about the identity of his real mum on the BBC soap, if the actor who plays him gets his way.
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Jamie Borthwick teased Jay could have some secret siblings he's yet to discover, or he might meet his long-lost mother. Anyone who watches the BBC soap may remember that back in 2006, we were told who Jay's mother was and that she had died two years earlier. It seems he grew up with her and his grandmother Evie until Evie's death in 2006.
Jay soon moved to Walford with his grandfather Bert Atkinson who he'd only recently met, before he was introduced to his father Jase Dyer. Bert left the soap around this time before making a brief return in 2017. Jay has been part of the Mitchell family since his father Jase's death in 2008, with Billy Mitchell taking him in.

Jamie admitted he was keen for more of Jay's family to be discovered, as he also teased the introduction of Jay's mother. Again, Jay's mother is dead, but what's to stop the revelation that Jay's mother was actually someone else?
Teasing the possible plot, Jamie confessed he had someone in mind to play his onscreen mum. He told us: "I want to bring in Jay's long-lost sister or something. Maybe his mum... we never saw her so maybe my mum. Do you know who I would love to play my mum? Joanna Lumley, I love Joanna Lumley."
Asked about who he'd like to see return to the soap from the past, he added: "It's only really Ross Kemp that can come back from the old school era isn't it, we can bring Ross back for a bit." The star also teased the looming fire stunt, with it reported a blaze will tear through Kathy's café this autumn. He said, asked if he was involved in the filming: "I've not really been involved in that so it's not me, it's not me."
