A woman who died after being hit by a vehicle in Glasgow city centre has been described as a "wonderful, kind, intelligent young woman".

Chinenye Vera Okonkwo, from Nigeria, was struck on St Vincent Street on Thursday, February 2. The 33-year-old was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

Her heartbroken family released a touching tribute to their "passionate" loved one and said their lives will "never be the same" without her.

In a statement released via Police Scotland, her family said: “Chinenye was a wonderful, kind, intelligent young woman with a strong faith in God. She had a passion to succeed and whatever obstacles she faced were overcome.

“She was very family-orientated and always had time for everyone. Our lives will never be the same without her.”
