Paramount+ bosses have confirmed that production on the Frasier reboot begins "this week" as Kelsey Grammer heads to the studio in Los Angeles.
He reprises his lead role after showing interest in a show revival back in 2018 and re-joins the hit-programme as Frasier Crane – also serving as executive producer.
The reboot will be filmed in front of a live studio audience in LA this week as the series picks up Crane's life as he returns to Boston with "new challenges to face".
In a statement released to the media earlier today, Paramount+ high-ups revealed that "production starts this week" and that James Burrows is in the director's seat.

"The first two episodes of the new series will be directed by legendary director and television creator James Burrows."
James has been the recipient of 10 Emmys and five Directors Guild of America Awards, where he also holds the honour of being the most nominated director in TV history.
The new series will see psychiatrist turned radio host Frasier Crane start a new life in a new city, having left Seattle in the final episode of the original series.
The character had relocated to Chicago, after turning down a promising new job in San Francisco, so he could be close to his girlfriend Charlotte.

The new series will reportedly feature mostly new characters.
Members of the original cast – David Hyde Pierce’s Niles, Jane Leeves’ Daphne and Peri Gilpin’s Roz – aren’t expected to be regulars, according to Deadline.
The new series comes from writers Chris Harris (How I Met Your Mother) and Joe Cristalli (Life In Pieces).

Kelsey confirmed they were in the "final stages of the final script for the first episode" back in July. "I’ve had a couple of runs through it, and I cried, so I’m happy," he said.
He also said he credits the title character as being the key element in the revival's success.
"The key ingredient for the Frasier reboot is actually Frasier, honestly. It was always called [Frasier], so it’s me, the key is me," he joked while appearing on The Talk.
