I'LL CARRY ON TRUCKING

THE nation’s oldest lorry driver has vowed to carry on trucking — as he celebrates his 91st birthday.

Sprightly Brian Wilson has no plans to hang up his keys after 70 years behind the wheel, having clocked up 3.5million miles.

The grandad still gets up every day at 5am for a 12-hour shift delivering steel and regularly does 1,000 miles a week.

Despite owning a sat nav and two map books, Brian says he has never had to use them — because he knows Britain’s roads so well.

The trucker, of Sheffield, plans to continue driving as long as he can, saying: “I love my job and I’ve never ever thought of retiring.”

Brian passed his annual medical check-up in December with flying colours and is backing PM Rishi Sunak’s plans to get the older generation back into work.

He said: “Retirement would bore me after a couple of months.”
