Inside Man viewers rip into ‘terrible and unwatchable’ BBC drama – but there’s a reason they can’t switch off

BBC Inside Man viewers were disappointed with the latest episode, going as far as calling it "unwatchable" - but they couldn't switch it off.

The BBC "devilish drama" aired last night and stars David Tennant and Stanely Tucci.

The thrilling drama tells the story of Jefferson, a criminology expert on death row, in the United States, played by Tucci, and a vicar called Harry in a sleepy English town, played by Tennant.

In the latest episode we saw Harry's dilemmas worsen as the fate of his family hung in the balance. Meanwhile, Beth Davenport (Lydia West) received a chilling warning from an associate of Jefferson.

The police interrogated Tennant's Reverend Watling about Edgar's suicide note, too.

Although the BBC drama has been off to a successful start - some viewers have been left disappointed.

Some found Inside Man "uncomfortable" to watch, while others said that they had "lost interest" completely in the series.

Taking to Twitter one viewer wrote: "What started good became preposterous as soon as the vicar lied to the tutor. It totally lost the plot. Very disappointed. Goodbye,"

Another added: "Ridiculously improbable plotline, what a pity #insideman."

Another wrote: "I'm so confused by the decision making or lack of in #InsideMan."

However there were some viewers who enjoyed the thrilling episode.

One viewer wrote: "Never seen a drama that's so plainly terrible and yet so captivating at the same time. Unwatchable but unputdownable. What the hell is going to happen? #InsideMan."

Another added: "Ok it's preposterous but I really enjoyed the first episode of #InsideMan."

Other fans simply praised the gripping instalment and its writer, Steven Moffat, with one person writing: "Loved the first episode of #InsideMan.

David Tennant has said that his new TV show is “terrifying as a viewer” thanks to his character who is prone to making “catastrophically bad decisions”.

Inside Man continues on Tuesday, September 27 at 9 pm on BBC One, with the remaining two episodes airing on Monday, October 3 and Tuesday, October 4.
