A man has died after being attacked by a dog in a park inHampshire. A 34-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene in the town of Fareham on Wednesday morning.
At approximately 10:25 am, the police were called to the recreation ground on Hilson Drive.
His 20-year-old man from Fareham has been arrested on suspicion of being the owner/responsible of a dog that ran uncontrollably and dangerously, causing injury and death. .
He was released from custody without charge, according to Hampshire Police, but an investigation continues while the inquiry continues.
Paramedics treated the victim at the scene but were unable to save him and he was pronounced dead in the park.
Hampshire Police spokesperson said: A 1-year-old male from Fareham was arrested on suspicion of causing him to injure and die while the owner/in-charge of a dog was dangerously runaway.
"He was released from custody without charge but is under investigation while the investigation continues."
