Man slams passenger’s rude behaviour which blocks his tray table during flight

A PASSENGER was left shocked on a flight when the person sat in front of him affected his flight before he'd even taken off.

The man couldn't believe his misfortune when he sat down to board his flight to realise the passenger in the seat in front had added a contraption to her chair.

That item required two straps to wrap around the back of the seat, both of which prevented the passenger from putting his tray table down.

The infuriated man took a picture of the restricting gadget and shared it to Reddit, to see if other people were as stunned as he was.

He wrote: "Woman in front of me put some seat attachment which prevents me from opening my tray table."

Some suggested he take matters into his own hands by unclipping the straps.

One wrote: "Good thing the buckle is right in front of you so you can unclip it and put your tray down".

A second added: "There is a clip. Open it".

However, others felt that the passenger could have just asked the woman in front if she could move it, instead of feeling the need to put a picture online.

One said: "The only thing mildly infuriating here is that he took the exact same amount of time to post this as it would’ve taken to solve his problem".

Another wrote: "Let her know what she did, she probably doesn’t realize it. Then let her know you are going to undo it."

The woman could have been doing the man a favour, if flight attendants are to be believed, with at least one of them saying that the tray tables are the dirtiest thing on board a plane.

In a thread on Reddit, the cabin crew member revealed the number of things they've seen on the tray tables that are not fit for human consumption, as they warned passengers about the issue.

They wrote: “The tray tables are gross. Can’t even remember how many times I’ve seen babies changed on them, puke on them, people bleed on them…

"They’re supposed to be cleaned nightly, but I wouldn’t put food directly on them. Nope nope nope!”

Other flight attendants have shared similar experiences too, while Skyscanner once found the tray tables to be the dirtiest place on a plane.

The advice from this former flight attendant was to bring anti-bacterial wipes or sanitiser and clean the tray table, because the cabin crew often won't have time.

They wrote on Reddit: "If you're flying short haul, definitely bring antibac wipes or sanitiser."

Meanwhile, these parents were slammed for letting their small child jump up and down on the tray table on board a plane.

And this is why you need to have your table up for both take off and landing.
