Man Utd wonderkid Alejandro Garnacho ‘set to earn TEN TIMES his wages as he closes in on new contract’

ALEJANDRO GARNACHO is reportedly set to see his wages increase by TEN TIMES in his new Manchester United contract.

The Argentine starlet has become one of the most exciting prospects in the Premier League after his recent performances for the Red Devils.

Including his winning goal against Fulham in his side's final game before the World Cup break, the 18-year-old has scored twice and assisted two more in his eight appearances in all competitions this season.

His solo goal against Fulham saw comparisons made between him and his idol Cristiano Ronaldo, who of which has left the club.

Due to his breakthrough into Erik ten Hag's first team the club are believed to be keen on renewing his contract with the club.

Garnacho is currently earning £5,000 per week, but his new deal could see that increase tenfold to £50,000 per week according to the MEN.

His current contract expires in 2024, meaning the club will be keen to extend his terms and keep him at Old Trafford after his recent impressive results.

Garnacho was given his deal by Manchester United when they signed him from Atletico Madrid for just under £500,000 in 2020.

Former Premier League and England goalkeeper David James was asked about Garnacho's contract situation, he said on GGrecon: "If he was going to be corrupted, then £5,000-a-week would have already corrupted him.

"That’s not to say that £50,000-a-week isn’t going to put him in a different place, but if he was going to be corrupted, then it would have happened already.

"I hope he has a lot of good people around him advising him on what to do with that extra £45,000. Providing that he does have the right people advising him, that allows him to concentrate on his football.

"I don't know the man at all, but if he is money driven, £50,000-a-week may mean that he'll soon want £100,000-a-week, which in that case will drive him on to play even better."

Ten Hag's side are back in action tomorrow as they take on Spanish side Cadiz in a friendly match.
