  • McDonald’s hikes menu prices again for the second time in just weeks

McDonald’s customers will be disappointed to learn that the fast food giant has increased the prices of its items once again.

It’s the second time within just weeks that the restaurant has upped item costs.

Information remains scarce but McDonald’s confirmed that the price increase move applies broadly across its coffee menu.

For example, its black and white coffee drinks have gone up by 20p – from 99p to £1.19.

It wouldn’t give prices for other items on its menu as it said franchises set their own prices.

Prices will vary depending on location and restaurant so make sure you check at your local McDonald’s for the correct increase.

A McDonald’s spokesperson told The Sun: “We remain committed to offering great tasting food at affordable prices.

“However, increasing costs continue to affect our company, our franchisees and our suppliers.

“We carefully review and adjust our prices to ensure that while some prices may change, we maintain great value and quality across our menu.”

  • What are the most popular McFlurry flavours around the world?

The most popular McFlurry flavours around the world are between Terry's Chocolate Orange (UK), Reese's Peanut Butter Cup (US) and M&M and Twix around Europe.

Some exotic flavours like Pineapple Oreo is popular in Colombia, while Canada love the Creme Egg McFlurry.

  • How to make a McDonald’s milkshake from home

For a basic milkshake, you need:

    • 250g vanilla ice cream
    • 160g milk (add more if necessary)
    • Vanilla: Add a drop of vanilla essence or a teaspoon of icing sugar.
    • Chocolate: Add two tablespoons of any drinking chocolate powder, such as Nesquik or Options Hot Chocolate (do not use cocoa because it is too bitter).
    • Strawberry: Add two tablespoons of Nesquik strawberry.
    • Banana: To get that very sweet taste of McDonald’s shakes, add two tablespoons of Nesquik banana. Or, for a more subtle flavour, add a chopped banana. If you really want it to look authentic, a couple of drops of yellow food colouring will do the trick.

    METHOD:

    1. Blend the ingredients together.
    2. When adding powdered flavouring, start with just one tablespoon at first and taste. If you need to add more, gradually add the rest, tasting as you go.
    3. Remember, the main ingredient is ice cream, so the more you blend, the more it will melt and the thinner it will be.
    4. Pour into two glasses, add straws and serve.

  • How to make your own Big Mac at home

Sometimes, for any number of reasons, you just can’t make to your local McDonald’s to grab a delicious Big Mac.

So, here is how to make one from the comfort of your own home.

First things first, to make the burger, you need beef mince, burger buns – ideally seeded – iceberg lettuce, an onion, burger sauce, American cheese and depending on your preference, gherkins.

In order to re-create the three layers, you need to cut one burger bun in half, then slice another one in half and use the bottom layer for your middle slice.

And don’t be tempted to use a pre-made burger patty, make that burger yourself!

Next, you will want to make Maccies’ iconic Big Mac sauce.

    Here is our recipe:

    • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
    • 2 tablespoons French dressing
    • 4 teaspoons sweet pickle relish
    • 1 tablespoon finely minced white onion
    • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
    • 1 teaspoon sugar
    • 1/8 teaspoon salt
