Next Premier League manager sacked odds: Cooper odds slashed drastically after thumping defeat as Rodgers pressure eases

STEVE COOPER'S reign as Nottingham Forest manager looks under serious threat after their latest thumping defeat at Leicester.

That's according to bookmakers Sky Bet, who have Cooper as the overwhelming favourite at 2/9 to be the next manager out of a job.

Bruno Lage became the FOURTH managerial change of the 2022-23 campaign, following Scott Parker, Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter.

And Sky Bet reckon Cooper won't be far behind after reports the Forest hierarchy were seriously considering his position.

That saw Cooper - who was fourth favourite before last night's loss - drop dramatically to a long odds-on shot.

Cooper's side signed 22 players at a cost of £150million over the summer, but there's an understandable lack of cohesion in his team, who are sat bottom on goal difference after shipping four goals.

Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl, 55, is second favourite after Cooper's price drop and is 7/1.

Southampton suffered a third straight defeat to Everton at St Mary's on Saturday despite having led just after the break.

The result left Saints in 16th position with seven point from a possible 24, and two wins from their opening eight fixtures.

Southampton's four defeats in five have all come by single-goal margins, but they've failed to keep a clean sheet in 14 consecutive matches.

After the match, Hasenhuttl said: "We never stopped playing or trying. The effort was there, but the effort alone is not enough - you need to have the quality."

Brendan Rodgers is next in the betting.

Rodgers was priced at 3/10 last week but has drifted markedly to 9/1 after reports claimed it would cost upwards of £10m to dismiss the Northern Irishman.

That coupled with the impressive win over Forest looks to have bought him time, particularly with a winnable run of fixtures ahead.

Leicester sit second-bottom of the division with four points from a possible 24.

Steven Gerrard follows at 12/1 with Aston Villa registering two wins from eight and failing to beat 10-man Leeds at Elland Road on Sunday.
