Nuclear warheads convoy travelled across UK after Putin's terrifying nuke warning to West

A convoy of nuclear warheads was spotted travelling across the UK just days after Vladimir Putin issued a terrifying warning to the West.

Eagle-eyed motorists captured the moment the military vehicles were escorted by police on the M6 heading north.

In the 24-second clip, two convoys could be seen travelling behind police escorts with flashing lights on Thursday (September 29).

But several other convoys were said to have travelled past the witness before she began recording.

A man could be heard expressing his concerns and said: "I've never seen police trucks like that before, never."

Footage shows the unmarked procession making its way towards Penrith, Cumbria, with the Twitter user uploading it shortly before 11am.

The shocked traveller captioned the video: "I think we’ve just seen a convoy heading up the M6 north towards Penrith way.

"A few had already passed before I started the video."

They alerted a group that monitors British nuclear weapon convoys called Nukewatch UK.

Another motorist took to Twitter to alert road users that he had been overtaken by the convoy on the M6 later that day.

On September 21, Putin threatened the UK as he announced the first mobilisation of his country since World War Two.

He accused the United States, the EU and Britain of encouraging Ukraine to push military operations into Russia as he promised that he would use nuclear weapons against the West if necessary.

The Russian tyrant said they are opposing "not only neo-Nazi formations but the entire military machine of the collective West."

He continued: “This is not a bluff. And those who try to blackmail us with nuclear weapons should know that the weathervane can turn and point towards them.”

Earlier this year, a convoy with “up to six” nuclear warheads drove 400-miles through the UK.

It set off from the Atomic Weapons Establishment in Aldermaston to the Royal Naval Armaments Depot in Coulport in Argyll, around 150 miles north of Penrith were the latest convoy was spotted.

The military convoy was pictured travelling on the M6 motorway on Saturday, March 20, and was tracked near Glasgow on its final stretch.

Campaigner Jane Tallents said at the time that she believed it was just a routine refurbishment.

She previously told Glasgow Live: “They are not arming up to bomb Russia or anything like that - but they could do that anytime.

“I don't think this convoy is of any more concern than the fact that we are always, 24/7, armed and ready to start a nuclear war.

“Obviously this current situation is very, very alarming… how quickly some incident could just provoke something that gets all out of our control quickly.”
