Kansas City Chiefs tight end and NFL Super Bowl winner Travis Kelce tricked Joe Biden with one of the oldest yet immature tricks in the book during a visit to the White House.
While trying to pull off an iconic White House moment, Kelce admitted to trying to distract Biden so that he could have enough time to say some words as he stood behind the President's official podium. Keeping American sports tradition alive, after the Chiefs won the 2023 Super Bowl, the team was invited to celebrate their victory over the Philadelphia Eagles inside the Oval Office, with an annual invite from President Biden and the White House.
However, Travis tried to trick Biden by pointing his finger in the distance, hoping that Biden would look knowing nothing was there, to have enough time to rattle off a few words like the President would.
Speaking to his brother Jason on their " New Heights " podcast, Travis discussed the attempt to make a White House speech after posing for a picture with Biden and Patrick Mahomes.
"Pat [Mahomes] knew right away when you pointed," said Jason Kelce. "He was like ‘There ain’t nothing over there. If I know this is a flanking move – I know Travis, and he’s a flanker.' He’s seen that one before. Shout out to Pat, man, for keeping me from embarrassing myself at that podium in front of the world."
While Travis was robbed of his dream moment to make a speech at the President's podium, he admitted that it would have been short and to the point if he had the chance to say anything.

"That’s all I wanted to say, dude. That’s it... I shouldn’t have started with, " I’ve always wanted to do this."
Jason then admitted that if his brother only wanted to say the famous three-word phrase, he probably would have gotten away with it and not gotten kicked out of the place.
"If you started off with ‘My fellow Americans,’ that would’ve been such a showstopper," replied Jason said. "I don’t think they would’ve kicked you off. If somebody gets up to the podium and says ‘My fellow Americans,’ it’s like immediate like ‘Alright, what’s this dude about to say.’"
Kelce is known as one of the biggest jokers in the NFL, as proved by his post-Super Bowl victory tour, which saw him attend numerous events around America.
One viral moment in particular saw the tight end appear at a music festival with the Vince Lombardi Trophy - unclear whether it was the real one or a replica - before downing a beer and spiking the trophy on the ground.
