Prince Andrew's awkward dig at Prince Harry ahead of Princess Eugenie's wedding

Back in 2018 royal fans were treated to not one but two royal weddings in a matter of just months.

First Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle in May 2018.

And just five months later, the royals returned to the same chapel to watch Princess Eugenie wed husband Jack Brooksbank at the same venue.

Both sets of nuptials were broadcast live on TV with Eugenie's wedding broadcast on ITV show This Morning.

Before the big day, Eugenie's dad Prince Andrew gave an interview on This Morning and talked about his daughter's wedding.

And it appeared he made an awkward comment when it came to him talking about the number of guests that would be at Eugenie's wedding.

She and Jack invited 850 guests to St George's Chapel compared to Harry and Meghan's 600.

Andrew said: "It will not be the same as the previous one that was held in May. This is not a public wedding, this is meant to be a family wedding.

"There'll be a few more people than most people have. There are a few more than Harry had, but that's just the nature of Eugenie and Jack - they've got so many friends that they need a church of that size to fit them all in."

One viewer at the time wrote on Twitter : "Throwing some shade there Duke." While another added that he was"throwing shade all over the place".

Earlier this week it was announced that Andrew is to become a grandparent for the third time after Eugenie announced she is expecting her second child.

Eugenie and Jack are already parents to their young son August, who turns two next month.

And as well as announcing their happy news via a statement from Buckingham Palace, Eugenie also took to her own personal Instagram page - and shared a photo of August kissing her bump.

In the photograph, taken by Jack, Eugenie, dressed in a woolly hat, beams as August, in a burgundy winter hat, matching trousers and wellies, embraces her and kisses her bump, as they stand next to a fence in a leaf-strewn field.

"We're so excited to share that there will be a new addition to our family this summer."

The baby will be born 13th in line to the throne and he or she will be the first of the Queen's great-grandchildren to be born since her death.
