Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were met by cheering fans as they arrived at the Ripple of Hope Award gala.

The Duke of Sussex could be seen holding an umbrella as he walked into the venue alongside his wife.

Prince Harry arrived at the gala wearing a suit and tie.

The Duchess of Sussex was clutching a purse as she led the way in a white off-the-shoulder dress.

The couple touched down in the Big Apple on a private flight this morning, the Mirror has claimed.

VIP tickets to the event reportedly cost up to $1million (£847,000).

Harry and Meghan will receive an award during the Ripple of Hope gala.

The event, which will be hosted by ex-POTUS John Kennedy's niece Kerry, will honour individuals for their charitable efforts.

Former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton have been among the previous recipients.

The event is organised by the Robert F Kennedy Human Rights organisation and will be overseen by Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin.
