Susanna Reid reveals she’s doing Peloton and cutting out snacks after putting on a stone

GOOD Morning Britain anchor Susanna Reid has revealed the secrets behind her one-stone weight loss.

The ITV favourite, 51, quipped how "unrestricted access to the bread bin" during the coronavirus lockdown had tipped her scales a little higher.

Susanna, who has been candid about being teetotal for four years, opened up on her new fitness regime.

The mum of three told MirrorOnline: "During lockdown I put on a stone.

"Unrestricted access to the bread bin was my downfall and not doing enough exercise, so I’m back on the Peloton bike and trying to cut out snacking again."

Peloton is a standalone spin bike which owners can use with a series of live and pre-recorded high intensity workouts on a screen.

She added: "I prefer life alcohol-free – it’s tiring and the hangxiety got to me.

"I don’t feel like I can plough on after pints of Guinness the night before. Spending time with the kids is my release."

She recently discussed her weight loss journey with top PT and fitness influencer, Joe Wicks, 37.

She told The Body Coach: “The fact of the matter is that lockdown has had a massive impact on people.

“Despite all of that, and the fact that we could get fit online, we do face an increasing obesity crisis.

“I found it really hard to shift those pounds. What is the problem when there are so many workout plans, so many nutrition plans?”

Susanna is fronting Good Morning Britain with a variety of co-presenters - including Ed Balls and Richard Madeley - following regular co-host Piers Morgan's exit in March 2021.

Talking of her telly future, she told the same publication: "I never look ahead.

"I just hope I’m doing this forever because I love live television.

"There is never a night before work when I feel fearful. I spend Sundays prepping for the show. Sleep is the only time I switch off."
