Teenager hands himself in over stabbing of rapper at Notting Hill Carnival

A teenager is being held over the death of a rapper at Notting Hill Carnival.

Takayo Nembhard, 21, also known by his rap name TKorStretch, died after being stabbed in Ladbroke Grove, west London, in August.

The 18-year-old man was arrested after handing himself into police on Tuesday.

He was arrested on suspicion of murder and is being questioned in custody.

The rapper from Bristol was expecting his first child when he attended the event with his sister and friends.

He was left to bleed to death after a major artery in his groin was severed.

Detectives believe several hundred people may have witnessed the attack and want to hear from anyone who may have video footage or pictures.

Another individual is still being hunted in connection with the attack, a Metropolitan Police spokesperson said.

Detective inspector Laura Semple said: ‘Do you know who this person is? He was caught on CCTV at the Carnival and we still urgently need to trace him.

‘If can you help or have any information – no matter how small – about Takayo’s murder please come forward.’

At the time his manager Chris Patrick said in a statement: ‘He went to Carnival with his younger sister and friends to have a good time.

‘This is the worst possible ending for a talented kid.’

Four other people have previously been arrested in connection with the killing.

A 23-year-old man and an 18-year-old man were arrested in Bristol on suspicion of murder on October 19, while a 20-year-old woman was also arrested in Islington on suspicion of assisting an offender.

The 18-year-old man and 20-year-old woman were subsequently bailed pending further enquiries. The 23-year-old man was released under investigation.

A 17-year-old male was arrested in Bristol on October 22 on suspicion of the murder and subsequently bailed pending further enquiries.
