Transfer news LIVE: Ronaldo's 'decision', Man Utd eye South Korea star and PSG want Bellingham

The January transfer window is right around the corner and promises to be busy for Premier League clubs.

At the centre of the global attention however is Cristiano Ronaldo's next move and where the Portuguese superstar ends up. He has two offers from Saudi Arabia, Chelsea remain in the running and there are likely to be others - but what does he want?

Manchester United his former club, are continuing to look to strengthen under Erik ten Hag, and have turned their attention to a South Korean World Cup star. It won't be cheap though.

Arsenal are flying at the top of the table and Mikel Arteta wants to strengthen from a position of power as they bid to stun Manchester City in the title race. With Gabriel Jesus injured on Brazil duty, that need may be more pronounced now than it ws a few days ago.

And what about the future of Jude Bellingham? Liverpool's No.1 transfer target, Manchester City and PSG are both also keen on the England star. Speculation is mounting that City could well sell their current £100million Brummie to land another in the shape of the teenage star.

Bellingham in, Grealish out?

Could Manchester City cash in on Jack Grealish to land Jude Bellingham?

The Premier League champions are keen on Bellingham - like the rest of Europe's big guns.

And Football Insider claims they'll get rid of the ex-Aston Villa man to fund a move for the Borussia Dortmund star.

Man Utd want South Korea star

As Erik ten Hag continues his Manchester United rebuild, it's claimed in Italy that Kim Min Jae has moved to the top of his wishlist.

CalcioMercato claims the defender - who only moved to Napoli in the summer to replace Kalidou Koulibaly - is already in demand, with his agent fielding calls over his signature.

And that's got Napoli worried because of a release clause in his contract, which stands at just €45million.

That's cheap by most standards given how good he's proven to be in recent months. And United may look to take advantage.

Napoli are hoping to give him a new deal and get rid of that release fee.

Ronaldo's decision

Cristiano Ronaldo is still open to offers.

Sunday Mirror Sport understands that the Portuguese superstar still hasn’t decided whether to accept a £173 million-a-year offer from Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr - and that he will only determine his future after the World Cup.

Ronaldo, 37, was so desperate to cut his ties to Manchester United that he was happy for his contract to be torn up without any compensation package on his £500,000-a-week wages. And even though he has been looking to leave Old Trafford since the summer, he did so without already knowing his next destination.

Sources close to the former Sporting Lisbon, Real Madrid and Juventus striker have confirmed that Ronaldo is focussed on trying to help his country become world champions for the first time and wanted no distractions during the tournament.

Please join us again tomorrow and we will take you through all the best rumours and news ahead of next month's transfer window.

Bennacer 'keeping an eye' on Liverpool

Earlier we brought you reports from Italy suggesting Liverpool are eyeing up Ismael Bennacer as a possible alternative to Jude Bellingham this summer.

Tutto Mercato says Bennacer is ‘keeping an eye’ on Liverpool and that Jurgen Klopp is a ‘great admirer’ of his.

His current contract only runs until June 2024, and AC Milan will soon discuss new terms - a fact which perhaps explains the transfer gossip.

De Ligt didn't talk to Chelsea

Matthijs de Ligt says he never spoke to Chelsea about a summer transfer before joining Bayern Munich.

“Yes, but that wasn’t to do with me,” De Ligt, who cost Bayern £68million, said when asked about Chelsea. “I had my sights on Bayern. It wasn’t close with me but maybe [it was between] the clubs. Honestly, I didn’t speak to them this summer. There were a lot of rumours that didn’t come from me.”

Juve want Tavares

Juventus have reportedly indentified Arsenal left-back Nuno Tavares as a summer transfer target.

Juve left-back Alex Sandro is out of contract in the summer and Tavares' impressive performances on loan with Marseille have turned heads in Turin, according to Sport.fr, identifying him as a potential replacement.

Newcastle could recall Dubravka

Martin Dubravka's loan move from Newcastle to Manchester United could be terminated in January.

The Chronicle says that Eddie Howe will talk to Dubravka about recalling him, after little action at Old Trafford.

Van de Beek swap details

Juventus are currently under the microscope in Italy as Turin's public prosecutors comb through their books in pursuit of information about alleged financial offences.

One of the details they've uncovered concerns Manchester United's attempt to offload Donny van de Beek. Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Juventus rejected a proposal in August 2021 to swap Van de Beek with USA international Weston McKennie.

Liverpool 'submit bid' for Bennacer

Like many other clubs, Liverpool are chasing Jude Bellingham - but they have other options, too.

Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport report that the Reds have made contact with AC Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer, who will be out of contract at the end of the next season.

The 25-year-old is therefore expected to be available for a knock-down fee in the summer of 2023.

Celtic sign World Cup star

Celtic have agreed a deal to sign Canada right-back Alistair Johnston from CF Montreal on a five-year-contract.

The 24-year-old will join the Scottish side in January, alongside Japanese defender Yuki Kobayashi, who has agreed to join from Vissel Kobe.

Gvardiol price tag

RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol is attracting a lot of interest of late.

The young Croatian centre-back has been linked with Chelsea in particular, and could be affordable come the summer transfer window.

The 20-year-old signed a long-term contract with Leipzig in the summer, but it has a €50million (£42m) buy-out clause, according to Sport.

Marsch makes Gakpo claim

Leeds manager Jesse Marsh claims his side were on the brink of signing Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven this summer.

The American admits Gakpo - a target for Manchester United and and many european giants - has played his way to a price tag which is "out of our range" with his performances for Netherlands at the World Cup, where he has scored three goals.

He told the Men In Blazers podcast: "We were so close to securing a transfer for him in summer. I mean, it was so close and now obviously it's disappointing for us.

"Our sports director was in Holland and was meeting with the family, had agreed on terms on everything, was talking with PSV. I mean, we were 99.9 per cent [of the way there], so I felt bad for Victor Orta and all the effort that he put into it.

"I talked to Cody in the process, and I'm happy for him to have had so much success here at the World Cup and I think show everybody how good he is."

Reds consider Konate swap

An eyebrow-raising report in Italy claims Liverpool are weighing up a swap deal involving Ibrahima Konate and Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic.

Calciomercatoweb claims Jurgen Klopp is not entirely convinced by his centre-back, despite the fact many view the 23-year-old as the future of the Liverpool defence.

In contrast, the German is said to be a big fan of Vlahovic, who scored as Serbia were defeated by Switzerland in the World Cup on Friday evening.

Liverpool 'lurking' for Asesnsio

Marco Asensio is no stranger to a deluge of transfer links and the upcoming January window sees business continue as usual.

The Real Madrid playmaker, 26, is on Liverpool's radar, according to Fichajes, and the Reds are 'lurking' with a view to prising him from the Santiago Bernabeu.

Jurgen Klopp is said to be an admirer of the player, who has grown tired of his limited opportunities under Carlo Ancelotti but has showcased his ability with Spain at the World Cup.

Chelsea told to move for Gakpo

Glen Johnson believes Chelsea should move for Cody Gakpo in January.

The Dutchman has scored in all three games at the World Cup so far and is wanted by Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag.

"Cody Gakpo has really caught my eye at the World Cup. It's not easy to score at this level, also the way he reads the game, the way he plays and moves, he looks the real deal.

"In terms of personnel, Chelsea need Gakpo more than Liverpool. Chelsea have always had fantastic wingers, but they never scored goals, if you don't get in those positions to score goals there's not much point in you being in the team. Gakpo looks like he could do it in the Premier League, he looks like he would burst onto the scene like Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz has for Liverpool."

Diego Forlan tells Joao Felix to leave Atletico

Diego Forlan believes Joao Felix should leave Atletico Madrid to kick-start his stuttering career.

Felix, 23, was signed by Atletico from Benfica in an eye-watering £113million deal three-and-a-half years ago but has failed to repay that fee. He's scored just 33 goals for Diego Simeone's side and it's believed they will accepted an £86m offer for his services.

United are said to be interested in the Portuguese and Forlan, who played for the Red Devils between 2002 and 2004, thinks Felix should take the plunge.

"Felix is a very good player, he is young and has a lot of quality," Forlan told reporters.

"They paid a lot of money for him and he has not been playing as expected, but he is still very young. There are reports coming out about the possibility of him leaving Atletico and, if he leaves, he could even increase his performance. I believe in that.

"It happens a lot. It happened, for example, with Philippe Coutinho, who played very little at Inter and when he went to Liverpool he improved a lot."

Spurs chief Paratici accused of wasting £600m

Spurs sporting director Fabio Paratici has been accused of wasting £600m in “nauseous” deals in the latest revelations in the Juventus scandal.

The entire board of the Italian giants resigned earlier this week over an ongoing probe by Turin prosecutors into allegations of false accounting over the past three years.

Paratici, who joined Tottenham in June 2021 after three years as Juve transfer chief, is under investigation for market manipulation, false corporate communications of a company listed on the Stock Exchange and the issue of false invoices.

Wire taps on Juventus officials have been leaking out in the Italian media - with current sporting director Federico Cherubini recorded making accusations about his predecessor Paratici.

He said Paratici was guilty of mismanagement by sacking coaching Maurizio Sarri and Andrea Pirlo within 12 months and wasting transfer money.

According to La Stampa, Cherubini said:

“In two years he has thrown everything away, €700m (£600m) put in by the shareholders. He’s put everything at risk. Because he decided to get rid of two people when it was probably right to keep them.

“We were arrogant in the market. I swear that there were evenings when I’d go back home and feel nauseous just thinking about it.”

Juventus, who bought Cristiano Ronaldo for £100 in 2018, published a record annual loss of £220m for last season.

Ex-Juve president Andrea Agnelli and former Ballon D’Or winner Pavel Nedved have been named with Paratici in an indictment by Turin prosecutors. UEFA has also opened a formal investigation for potential breaches of its club licensing and Financial Fair Play regulations.

Michael Keane is in demand - just not at Everton

Nottingham Forest are facing competition for Everton defender Michael Keane.

The 29-year-old, who has been capped 12 times by England, is set to go out on loan after falling down the pecking order at Goodison Park. And Forest boss Steve Cooper is right at the front of the queue to take him as he looks to lift his side up and away from the relegation zone.

But Leicester, West Ham and Fulham are also eyeing moves for the former Manchester United youngster, meaning Forest are in a battle to sign him.

Keane has already had one loan spell at Leicester.

During the 2012-13 season, he spent six months with the East Midlands club, helping them reach the Championship play-offs.

No Klopp for Germany

Jurgen Klopp's agent Marc Kosicke has appeared to rule out the Liverpool manager succeeding Hansi Flick as Germany boss after they crashed out of the World Cup.

The Germans finished in third in Group F after picking up just four points from their three matches, with Japan topping the group with six points and Spain coming second on goal difference. A 4-2 win over Costa Rica on Thursday wasn't enough for Flick's side as they bowed out of the competition at the group stages once again.

Flick has come under increased criticism and his position is expected to be reviewed next week as Germany review what went wrong from their disappointing World Cup campaign. This is the second successive tournament in which the Germans have been knocked out at the group stage, having failed to progress through in 2018

Klopp has been since linked with the Germany job if Flick does lose his job, however, Kosicke has seemed shut those rumours down by claiming the 55-year-old 'intends to fulfil' his Liverpool contract. Klopp signed a new two-year deal back in April, which will take him until the end of the 2025/26 campaign - his 11th season at the club.

"This is a media topic," Kosicke told Sky Germany. "Jurgen has a contract until 2026 and he intends to fulfil it."

Ronaldo 'tempted' by Chelsea

Cristiano Ronaldo has received two huge offers to move to Saudi Arabia - but could he stay in the Premier League instead?

Calciomercato claims that he remains interested - 'tempted' is the word used - in a move to Manchester United's Premier League rivals, Chelsea.

Now, new Blues owner Todd Boehly held talks with Jorge Mendes over a move last summer, a deal kaboshed by then-boss Thomas Tuchel.

But could the American revisit a deal in January?

Liverpool's interest in £30m man

Liverpoolare monitoring Fiorentina and Morocco midfielder Sofyan Amrabat - but face paying £30million to land him in January.

Fiorentina director Daniel Prade has however revealed he has no intention to sell the player.

"We want to keep Amrabat here, there’s no plan to sell him. We've [got an] option to extend his contract next year, there’s no rush - he’s part of our plans."

However, Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport claim a pay increase could turn Amrabat's head whilst they also highlight the Champions League football on offer at Liverpool. The midfielder only earns €1.8million-a-year (£1.56m) in Florence and could receive substantially more if he were to move to Anfield.

Fiorentina chief on Amrabat links

Fiorentina director Pradé has delivered his verdict on rumours linking Sofyan Amrabat with a move to Liverpool and Tottenham.

He said: "We want to keep Amrabat here, there's no plan to sell him. We've [got an] option to extend his contract next year, there's no rush - he's part of our plans."

Bonatini makes Wolves exit

Leo Bonatini has left Wolves on a permanent basis by mutual content.

The striker played a starring role in the club's promotion to the Premier League, scoring 12 goals in 47 appearances.

However, Bonatini struggled for minutes in the top-flight and spent time out on loan with Nottingham Forest, Guimaraes and Grasshoppers, before departing the club on Friday evening.

West Ham enter Drameh race

West Ham United have entered the race to sign Cody Drameh following the failure of contract talks with Leeds United.

Drameh has only appeared in two games for Leeds United this season and is said to be frustrated with his lack of playing time at the club.

According to Team Talk, Drameh is ready to seek a new adventure and West Ham are keen on the player.

Forest agree Scarpa deal

Nottingham Forest have agreed to make Brazilian Gustavo Scarpa their 23rd signing this season.

Midfielder Scarpa, 28, has signed a pre-contract with Premier League Forest to play for them from January when the window opens.

He arrives on a free transfer from Palmeiras in his homeland and will join Forest on their Greek training camp next week ahead of a three-and-a-half-year deal.

Scarpa, capped once by Brazil, is the latest addition at Forest who brought in 22 players and spent £140million after winning the Championship play-offs last term.

Orlando sign Loyola

Orlando City have signed midfielder Favian Loyola in a deal that will run through until the end of the 2025 season.

The 17-year-old US youth international is Orlando's 13th homegrown signing in the club's history.

“Favian is an exciting young talent that we’re happy to have been able to help grow throughout the course of the last few years,” Orlando's general manager Luiz Muzzi said.

“His development and impact in the last year with Orlando City B amplified his continued improvement at every step since joining our academy, and we look forward to seeing his continued growth with our first team.”
