Wilko announces major change to every UK store that will affect all shoppers

Wilko has announced it will be introducing a brand new feature to stores nationwide that will offer customers more flexible shopping choices.

The high street retailer has confirmed that it will begin to offer a Click and Collect service for the first time in all of its UK stores. Items are said to be ready to collect within three hours of being ordered.

Wilko has said the new service is already available in over half of its stores and will be rolled out nationwide following two successful trials that were met with positive customer feedback.

It is just one major change that Wilko has introduced to its stores recently in a bid to make the shopping experience more convenient for its customers.

Other additions and changes to Wilko's shopper experience include; launching pick a day and/or time delivery, creating third party parcel collection points at selected stores across the country, reducing the price of home delivery options and introducing Klarna as a payment option on wilko.com.

Wilko has said that the new Click and Collect service will offer a convenient way for its customers to pick up everyday essentials, such as cleaning products, storage, toiletries, hardware and DIY in just one trip.

To use the service, all Wilko shoppers need to do is simply visit the Wilko website where they can shop as normal after selecting a participating store. Once the order is complete, the order will be prepared by the chosen store and shoppers will be sent a "ready to collect" email.

And there is no extra cost, as the service will offer free collection on all Click and Collect orders.

Ben Exall, Digital Director at wilko, said: "This is an exciting addition to wilko.com and offers customers more flexibility than ever when it comes to shopping with us. We’re proud to have already rolled this out across over half of our stores nationwide via two initial trials and, thanks to fantastic customer demand and feedback, we’re thrilled to be bringing click and collect to over 400 locations nationwide."

It comes just after Wilko announced that it would gradually be reducing the range of toys that it sold in stores to shift its focus to selling more household and garden products.
