iciHaiti - Education : Inauguration of the new national school Jean-Baptiste Dutty Boukman
On Wednesday May 17, 2023 in the afternoon, Prime Minister Ariel Henry, Minister of National Education Nesmy Manigat, Director of the National Education Fund (FNE) Jean Ronald Joseph, inaugurated the National school Jean-Baptiste Dutty Boukman of Flavile, 2nd communal section of Acul-du-Nord in the presence of notables, teachers, and 184 students who testified in their own way flag in hand, their recognition for these new buildings.
In his speech, the Acting Head of Government declared "[...] I take advantage of this ceremony to pay my respects to the brave teachers on this National Teachers' Day.
This school was fully funded by the National Education Fund using fees levied on money transfers and international calls. This inauguration reflects the determination of my Government to do everything possible to meet the expectations of the Haitian people [...]"
The Jean-Baptiste Dutty Boukman National School in Acul-du-Nord was funded by the FNE to the tune of 49.7 million Gourdes (49,744,447.9). In 2012, the year of its foundation, this school could accommodate 60 students, now it can accommodate 400 students.
The school infrastructure covers an area of 2,580 square meters, and includes : 2 rooms for preschool; 6 rooms for the first two fundamental cycles (1st to 6th A.F.); 2 rooms for administration; 2 toilet blocks; 1 space for the caretaker; 1 tank of 10,000 gallons of water; access ramps for people with reduced mobility.
