iciHaiti - Education : Towards a strengthened collaboration to meet the challenges of the sector
A working meeting was held this week at the General Directorate of the National Office for Partnership in Education (ONAPÉ) with various players in the education sector, including : Jean Ronald Joseph Director General of the National Education Fund (FNE) , Hervé Boursiquot, the Director General of ONAPÉ, the Secretary General of the National Confederation of Teachers of Haiti (CNEH), Magalie Georges and the Deputy Secretary General of the CNEH, Jean Lavaud Frédéric.
The main objective of this meeting was to strengthen relations between civil society and the structures of the Ministry of National Education. The discussions focused on ways to better solve the current problems of the education sector in Haiti and to find innovative practices. to meet the challenges.
The participants discussed in particular the relations between the State and civil society in the education sector in Haiti. They discussed ways to strengthen this collaboration to improve education and education rights in Haiti.
The status of teachers was also at the center of the discussions, with particular attention paid to improving the working conditions of teachers and their professional development.
Participants highlighted the importance of adequate compensation, ongoing training and access to quality educational resources for teachers.
On the question of the involvement of the trade union sector in the governance of the education sector, the officials stressed the importance of the active participation of trade unions in decision-making to improve the quality of education and guarantee the rights of teachers.
Jean Ronald Joseph, stressed the importance of collaboration between the various actors in the education sector, he also reaffirmed the commitment of the FNE to support efforts to strengthen collaboration between civil society and the structures of the Ministry to deal with the multiple challenges affecting the education sector.
