iciHaiti - Workshop : Training around disease surveillance in Haiti
This training session, which received financial support from the World Bank, had the following specific objectives:
"- Make an inventory of existing case definitions for diseases and/or phenomena under surveillance in Haiti;
- Update/revise the list of diseases and/or phenomena under surveillance according to national priorities and the regional context;
- Update the case definition of each pathology and/or phenomenon under surveillance taking into account the current epidemiological profile of the said disease/phenomenon and according to the regional guidelines of the Pan American Health Organization and the World Health Organization (PAHO /WHO);
- Adopt, according to PAHO/WHO guidelines, case definitions for diseases and/or phenomena under surveillance that do not have a definition known by all the actors involved in surveillance;
- Make available to all stakeholders a reference document containing case definitions of all diseases and/or phenomena under surveillance in Haiti;
- Update the technical sheets, notification and investigation of diseases and phenomena for immediate and weekly declaration.'
