Liberia Minister of Public Works, Ruth Coker Collins

Liberia’s Minister of Finance & Development Planning, Samuel G. Tweah has reportedly failed to defend the Government of Liberia under the CDC-led administration for his failure of appropriately defend kilometers of roads paved by the Government under Weah’s regime, this reportedly led to inherent contradiction between Public Works and others.

Finance Minister Samuel Tweah told State Radio ELBC that the current regime has paved 627 kilometers of roads in five years.

According to him there is currently 1,372 kilometers of the entire road network paved of which the government can account for 627 kilometers.

But Public Works Minister Ruth Cooker Collins on May 18, 2023 told Freedom FM that before 2018, Liberia had a total road pavement of 745 kilometers.

She noted that the current administration has increased the pavement from 745 to 1,275 kilometers since it took office.

This means, the administration has paved 530 kilometers of roads and not 627 kilometers as claimed by Finance Minister Samuel Tweah.
