Following widespread media reports that the political leader of the Liberian People’s Party (LPP), Cllr. Tiawon Saye Gongloe has publicly denied such claims as was being reported Frontpage Africa Newspaper.
The paper in its publication Tuesday, June 20, 2023, reported that the LPP political leader recently had held a ‘Closed-Door-Talks’ with Mr. Cummings to form a political alliance ahead of the October 10, 2023 elections.
However, in his prompt reaction Cllr. Gongloe dismissed such report, describing as false, misleading, and unimaginable, addressing a news conference held on Wednesday, June 22, 2023 at the LPP headquarters in Congo Town, Cllr. Gongloe emphasized that neither he nor his party had any intention of joining the Collaborating Political Parties.
He further stated that the LPP could never abandon the mission of the Liberian people for the sake of supporting an individual.
Cllr. Gongloe stated that the LPP is open to collaboration with any political party, including the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change, based on shared policies and not personal gain. He urged citizens across the country not to give this misinformation undue relevance.
As a presidential hopeful and legal luminary, Cllr. Gongloe’s firm stance on the matter has put an end to any speculation regarding his political affiliations.
