Florida man dives into ocean to save ring during fumbled proposal

His love knows no depth.

A man’s hope for a romantic sunset proposal was sunk earlier this month after he accidentally fumbled the engagement ring while proposing to his girlfriend on board a boat.

Scott Clyne and his then-girlfriend Suzie Tucker were standing on the boat admiring the view when Clyne attempted to propose … only for the box to fall into the ocean, according to a now-viral TikTok.

The 35-year-old then dove into the sea in an effort to keep the romance afloat while Tucker simply laughed out of awe.

“Dropped the ring in the gulf during my proposal,” reads text over the video.

A friend — who was on the boat with the couple — managed to capture the whole “Titanic”-esq moment.

Clyne managed to retrieve the ring and still went through with the proposal to which Tucker did agree to marry him.

According to the 35-year-old, his fiancé went into “full panic mode.”

Clyne said that the reason the ring fell was due to it getting caught at the top of his shorts pocket.

“I had the ring in my back pocket and when I went to reach for it, the corner of the ring box got caught on the top of my pocket and slipped out of my hands,” Clyne told the Post.

“Everything was an absolute blur from that point on! All I remember thinking was ‘this can’t be happening!’ and next thing I knew I was in the water.”

“I didn’t hesitate to jump in because I envisioned it sinking quickly and I wasn’t taking a chance. I saw it bounce off the deck and hit the water and thankfully it floated for a split second, giving me the chance to grab it as I dove in,” continued Clyne.

“Everything was a blur after that. I panicked and reacted by lunging for the ring box before it could sink, not caring if I fell into the water. Luckily, I was able to recover the ring!”

As of Sunday, the video has received nearly 8.4 million views.

According to Clyne, the pair met through a mutual friend who knew they both shared a passion for boating.

“I have always wanted to propose to Suzie on our boat because it’s a passion of ours and how we first met,” Clyne said.

“So, I planned a romantic boat cruise to watch the sunset and grab dinner on the water.”

Several other people anchored their opinions.

“From the way he jumped in I can tell that thing was expensive,” joked one user.

“NOW THATS COMMITMENT LOL,” commented another.

“Imagine jumping into the water just for her to say no,” quipped a third.
