‘GMA’ Viewers Baffled by Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes’ Refusal to Address Affair: “The Audacity”

Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes kept up a united front on Good Morning America today, appearing behind the GMA3 desk as usual one day after the news of their alleged affair was splashed all over the Daily Mail homepage. The co-anchors, who host GMA3 alongside Dr. Jennifer Ashton, didn’t even hint about yesterday’s drama and proceeded as usual…much to the dismay of Twitter, which was hoping for a juicy show.

When GMA3 opened today at 1 p.m., there was no sign of the scandal, aside from one offhand comment from Holmes. When Robach welcomed viewers to the “Friday eve” show, Holmes chuckled and shuffled his papers, asking, “Who’s looking forward to the weekend?”

Robach replied, “Uh, me,” and immediately raised her hand, while Holmes added, “Of course we are.”

The brief exchange wasn’t enough to satisfy viewers, who were baffled by the anchors’ nonchalance just 24 hours after their personal lives were exposed to the entire internet.

“Not them still on Good Morning America acting like nothing happened 💀😭 the AUDACITY,” one wrote.

Another added, “Why am I watching Good Morning America right now and in shock these two are still filming together! This can’t be live 😂😂😂,” while one more viewer chimed in, “Good morning America got TJ and Amy reporting like they aren’t in hot water. 🤔”

Me trying to understand how TJ Holmes and Amy Robach can sit on Good Morning America and act like we don’t need answers about their sneaks links. It’s the audacity for me. 😩🤣 pic.twitter.com/PHrdlMHQca

Holmes and Robach were back at work as usual after The Daily Mail and Page Six both reported that the co-anchors had been romantically involved for months. Page Six alleged that Holmes and Robach began their affair in March and left their respective spouses in August.

A source told the outlet today that producers behind the ABC show were “freaking out and having meetings about whether it was right to put them back on air again together,” but co-anchors smoothed over all chaos for today’s show.

“They showed up as a couple and said they were ready and totally fine to go on air,” a source told Page Six.

GMA3 airs weekdays at 12 p.m. ET on ABC.
