Savannah Chrisley says her younger brother, Grayson Chrisley, had a “breakdown” after his parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, began their total 19-year prison sentence this month.
“Grayson is 16 years old, [and] there’s so much growth going on with him right now, and it breaks my heart to know that my parents are missing out on that,” Savannah, 25, said while crying on Tuesday’s episode of her podcast, “Unlocked,” which was recorded on Jan. 24.
“Last night, Gray had a breakdown, and he’s trying to process my parents and the situation that they’re in and how that’s not the image that he wants to have of them,” Savannah continued.
The “Chrisley Knows Best” alum – who assumed custody of Grayson and adopted daughter Chloe after her parents went to prison – confessed she’s struggling to help her younger siblings “process” the situation while she herself also needs guidance.

“I’m trying to stand strong and not break and be strong for them, so they feel comfortable enough to break down, and it’s tough,” Chrisley admitted.
Chrisley specifically went into detail over Chloe’s struggle to understand why her prayers aren’t working and her parents are still in prison.

“Chloe at 10 years old is trying to process them being gone and missing her mom,” she said. “We were driving down the road the other day, and Chloe had so much anger towards the situation and she just said, ‘Why? They’re not bad people, they don’t belong there.'”
The Sassy beauty founder explained to her sister that she’s “trying everything that she can possibly do to get them home” and they should continue praying, but Chloe was still frustrated as they’re not home yet.

“She looked at me with tears just rolling down her face and said, ‘Guess what? I pray all the time. I pray for mom and dad to get home, I pray all day and guess what Sassy nothing happens – it doesn’t work.’ And when a 10-year-old says that to you, how do you respond?” Chrisley said, adding that she also occasionally feels the same way.
Chrisley ended the segment by tearfully sharing her gratitude for her mother for raising her to “find the strength to get through” raising her two siblings.

Todd, 53, is currently serving his 12-year sentence in Florida at the Federal Prison Camp Pensacola, while Julie, 50, is hours away at the Kentucky at Federal FMC Lexington for her seven years behind bars.
The Chrisleys reported to their respective prisons on Jan. 17 after being found guilty of fraud and tax evasion in June 2022. They were indicted in August 2019 after allegedly submitting fake documents to banks when applying for loans.
