Kevin Durant’s surprising Aaron Judge take was ‘colder than I intended’

Nets star Kevin Durant didn’t intend to come off so cold in his response to Aaron Judge returning to the Yankees.

After the Nets defeated the Hornets on Wednesday, Durant was asked about Judge’s nine-year, $360 million contract, to which he said: “I’m a Nationals fan. I really don’t care about Aaron Judge at all.”

Later that night, Durant — who grew up in the Washington D.C. area — took to Twitter to clear the air after seeing a postgame video of himself speaking about Judge.

“Damn this came out colder than I intended.. it’s all jokes.. welcome back to the city 99..,” Durant tweeted.

The NBA champion received backlash on Twitter from some fans that believed he should’ve been more sensitive to a fellow star athlete playing for a New York team.

But, according to Durant, it’s all jokes.

The Post’s Jon Heyman confirmed the news of Judge’s new deal on Wednesday, which will potentially keep the reigning AL MVP in The Bronx for remainder of his career.

Judge, 30, returns to the Yankees after he turned down a seven-year, $213.5 million extension offer from the team prior to the start of last season.
