How do you know you’ve made it? Because there’s a shrimp cocktail waiting for you when you arrive at a party.
Real estate mogul James Vitas threw himself a $1million birthday bash at a three-story penthouse at the Hotel on Rivington over the weekend, and we’re told rapper SAINt JHN performed after his appearance at the Rolling Loud music festival.
A source tells us the “Monica Lewinsky,” singer came through a private entrance and had the hotel hold guests so that he and his entourage — which included Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder Kareem “Biggs” Burke and director Steve Acevedo — could make their way up to the bash.
Once there, “JHN went straight to the green room and ate the shrimp cocktail he requested to be ready on his arrival,” says a source. That’s a rider condition we can get behind.
We’re told the multi-floor bash, which was decked out in $30,000 worth of roses and featured scantily-clad performers, cost around $1 million.
JHN took the stage in front of guests including hospitality guru Richie Akiva, DJ Felix Cartal, DJ Rachel Winters, Bustle Digital Group’s Bryan Goldberg, model Ambra Battilana Gutierrez and former Miss Universe Paulina Vega.
We’re told he kicked off the set with his hit “Roses.”
He played five songs for the crowd before heading over to Akiva’s the Ned to close out the night, says an insider.
Vitas is the founder of VMD Companies and is known for selling the largest single tenant net lease in the US for $355 million.
