Regnum Christi’s charism to a real need in our society, which Pope Francis stresses in his Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation Christus Vivit, a Leadership Academy has been established in Florence.
The Florence Leadership Academy exists to “train, qualify, accompany, network and launch young leaders and [unlock] their unlimited potential,” said Father Kramer Kameron, LC, one of the people behind the project. “Our vision is to launch a rebirth of leadership. We believe that young people have an unlimited potential and an infinite desire to do good and have an impact. We want to take advantage of this potential and create a movement that will change leadership for ever,” he added.
The Florence Leadership Academy is geared to University students. The educational format offers ethical, sustainable and inclusive leadership, training through monthly evening encounters, weekend and week-long intensive training courses with leadership experts in all areas of society worldwide. In n. 245 of Christus Vivit, Pope Francis says: “There is also a special need to accompany young men and women showing leadership potential, so that they can receive training and the necessary qualifications. The young people who met before the Synod called for ‘programmes for the formation and continued development of young leaders. Some young women feel that there is a lack of leading female role models within the Church and they too wish to give their intellectual and professional gifts to the Church. We also believe that seminarians and religious should have an even greater ability to accompany young leaders.’”
