The northern islands saw clear to partly cloudy skies with minimal shower activity while under a weak ridge pattern. The southern islands and to a lesser extent Barbados experienced light shower activity as a result of confluence within the lower levels. No significant rainfall was recorded across the island.
Further south, Trinidad and Tobago and the Guianas experienced mostly fair conditions under the influence of a weak ridge pattern.
Winds across the region were generally light to moderate, with a maximum of 7 knots recorded here in Barbados.
Seas were moderate in open water with swells peaking near 1.5m across the region.
Today’s Outlook
Moisture and instability associated with a trough system oriented meridionally in the Caribbean Sea will affect Barbados and the Lesser Antilles today.
This will result in generally partly cloudy to occasional cloudy periods with scattered showers.
A light wind regime coupled with diurnal heating could also trigger isolated localized afternoon showers and thunderstorms across the region.
