iciHaiti - Culture : The «Chiktay» registered in the National Register of Intangible Cultural Heritage

The Ministry of Culture informs the general population, specialists in culture and heritage, local communities, bearers or holders of intangible heritage in particular that the "Traditional preparation of 'Chiktay'" (or Chiquetaille in French), was officially registered in the National Register of Haitian Intangible Cultural Heritage.

The Ministry in accordance with article 215 of the Constitution and in application of articles 1 and 2 of the Convention for the Protection of Intangible Heritage ratified by Parliament on February 19, 2010 on the one hand, and paragraph 2 of article 4 of the decree on the Right of A111e11r and related rights taken in 2005; on the other hand, informs that this element of intangible cultural heritage is now protected by law.

Consequently, any commercial exploitation is subject to the legal provisions mentioned above in the law.
