Britney Spears says she’s ‘not having a breakdown’ after deactivating Instagram

Britney Spears declared she is “not having a breakdown” after fans expressed so much concern over her briefly deactivated Instagram account that they called the cops to her house.

“Since everyone thinks they know my story. THINK AGAIN !!! A mere side of any given SUNDAY doesn’t show worship placing someones story out there … it’s a day of WELCOMING … not a righteous reply !!!” the “Toxic” singer, 41, began a lengthy caption alongside a photo of a mildew-covered pink rose on Sunday.

“It is what it is … nope I’m not having a breakdown … I am who I am and moving forward in my life. I have never felt better !!!”

Spears, 41, explained she is still “learning this no rules thing” after being freed from her conservatorship, which controlled her life for nearly 14 years, and being able to use her “voice” in a world where she “lost” her rights.

“[It gives me the] opportunity to know I matter and maybe if you walked in my shoes, then maybe just maybe you could understand,” she wrote, adding that she feels “younger and in awe.”

The pop superstar concluded, “PS yes I took my Instagram down and now it’s back up because I can !!!”

Spears’ dramatic return to the picture-sharing platform came after she tweeted her frustration with her diehard fans who went “too far” to make sure she was OK.

“I love and adore my fans but this time things went a little too far and my privacy was invaded,” she tweeted last week.

The “Crossroads” star explained that police “never entered” her home and, upon arriving at her gate, “realized there was no issue and left immediately.”

Spears admitted that she felt “gaslit and bullied” once the incident made headlines.

A spokesperson for Ventura County Sheriff’s Office later confirmed to Page Six that its officers found the “Overprotected” singer not to be “in any kind of harm or danger.”
