Lookin’ just like mama.
A new mom and her infant have gone viral for a hilarious snap of them “twinning” while napping.
Laura Buckley, 37, was spotted taking a snooze on the couch next to 11-week-old Max’s bassinet, and it was clear the two share some genes. Both lounged with their right arm above their head as they ventured into dreamland.
“My daughter takes the loveliest pictures. Me and my 8 week old twinning,” read the caption.
The hilariously adorable post received over 4,200 likes on Facebook, and users rushed to comment in amazement and joy.
“This is actually a fab photo, tired mum from your hard work and one chilled baby, precious,” one viewer commented.
“Motherhood in one photo! I absolutely love it,” someone else wrote.
“This is parenting in the early days in a picture. One to cherish forever,” said another.
“This is easily the best mum and baby pic that I’ve seen on any of these pages. Absolutely brilliant,” commented another amazed person.
“This was actually me for the first few months of my son’s life…I’m glad there was no photo evidence,” someone else chimed in.
Laura’s own mother was the one who prompted the tuckered mama to post the snap on Facebook, since it made her laugh “so much.”
“I didn’t expect so many people to like it, it makes me cringe and laugh in equal measure,” Laura told NeedToKnow.online. “I look terrible, but the fact that Max is naturally in the same position made it so lovely.”
“It’s lovely knowing others saw the humor and love the reality of the early days of motherhood,” she added.
Despite the uncanny resemblance in the photo, Laura insists Max is “his dad’s twin.”
“Max is hilarious and the sweetest little boy in the world, who is adored by his older siblings,” she said of her newborn, who has a 13-year age gap between his next oldest sibling.
“It’s definitely been more challenging this time round, as it’s been 13 years since I had a baby and I certainly don’t feel 23 anymore,” noted Laura, who lives in Hampshire, England with her husband Mark, 30, and their three kids: Max, Finnian, 13, and Matilda, 15.
But life hasn’t always been so easy going as the photo portrays. When Max was born he was diagnosed with heart issues that required life-saving surgery at only 6 days old. Even now, he still sees a cardio specialist and requires another operation.
“We’re so grateful for all the team at E1 Southampton hospital who saved his life and for making it possible to have this treasured memory come true,” Laura said.
