Tristan Thompson apologizes to late mom Andrea for causing ‘embarrassment’

Tristan Thompson broke his silence on the death of his mother, Andrea Thompson, and apologized to her for causing “embarrassment” and “pain.”

The NBA player shared on Instagram a carousel of photos of Andrea with her family, including his ex Khloé Kardashian, taken throughout the years and penned a lengthy caption in which he described his grief and his pain.

“Dearest mommy in heaven,It has been one month since you’ve been gone. I’m in disbelief. Im in the deepest part of sorrow & grief,” he began his tribute Sunday.

“My soul is empty as I come to terms that my biggest supporter/superhero is gone. I cannot thank you enough for always being a woman of faith, being one of Gods warriors, fighting back with whatever the world threw our way.”

Tristan, 31, thanked his mother for protecting all of her children “through prayer” and called her a “hero” who “fought all the battles” she needed to before her death.

“Mommy I know you’re watching down on me; I wanna say thank you for picking me as your son. You dedicated ur life to ur boys & the church,” he continued. “Prayed & fasted for family/friends because you know how evil this world is.”

The former Chicago Bulls player described his “amazing” late mother as a “role model, best friend & the strongest woman I know” before embarking on his mea culpa.

“All I can say is, Im sorry mommy for the wrong decisions Ive [sic] made in my life. Im [sic] sorry for the embarrassment & pain,” he wrote, alluding to his numerous instances of infidelity.

“You raised me better than what I was able to show you. But I have also learned sorry is not enough. Actions speak louder than words. So I wont just say sorry. Stay tuned to the ways I will show the world what an amazing son you raised. I will show you that even when we fall & make mistakes, we get back up.”

After promising to make Andrea “proud,” Tristan vowed to take care of his younger brother Amari Thompson, who has epilepsy.

“I know they say time heals all but I don’t think this pain will ever go away,” he wrote. “We had so many memories & more I wanted to share with you. We will still share them but now from heaven.”

He concluded his message requesting Andrea remain his guardian angel and his “light.”

“I love you mommy. I can’t wait to see you and when I do I’m going to run and give you the biggest hug and kiss,” he wrote. “I promise to make you proud.”

Andrea died suddenly in January after suffering a heart attack. Immediately after, Khloé, 38, and Tristan took a private jet to Canada to be with his family. Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian later flew to Toronto in a show of support at Andrea’s funeral.
